This article provides strategies for being able to complete dungeons with minimal difficulty.
In general, there are two "classes" of enemies found in Dungeons. The first type is a lower health, lower attack NPC that has a semi-fast attack speed. The second type has higher HP, a higher attack, but a much slower attack speed.
A common setup for players who are in a dungeon is to have 1 slot for an attack, another for Prayer (for its healing), and another for a Summoning familiar.
While active, a Summoning Familiar will tank all damage from a hostile NPC, even if the NPC's damage dealt is higher than the Summoning Familiar's remaining Health. This makes Summoning Familiars very effective in tanking NPC hits, as they can often be re-summoned before an NPC with a large attack/slow speed can land another hit - providing infinite tanking.
Prayer is useful for fighting against the lower damage/faster speed NPC's. Because these NPC's hit faster, they are more effective in destroying a Summoning Familiar and landing hits on your character before the Summoning Familiar is re-summoned. use of Prayer allows a player to compensate for this type of NPC's effectiveness against Summoning Familiars, as the player can heal themselves to prevent excessive loss of HP.
Finally, it is essential to have a main form of combat. The three forms of combat are Ranged, Attack, and Magic. Range has a fairly short cooldown timer, Attack has a medium-length cooldown timer, and Magic has the longest cooldown timer. While many players prefer using Ranged or Attack because of their shorter attack speeds, Magic has a higher damage-per-second rate, meaning more damage is done by Magic overall than compared to Range and Attack.
